𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓: Both of our two scheduled studio dates for “Portraits of Sacrifice and Bravery” on Saturday March 28th and April 18th at Dachowski Photography have been postponed. Although we are very disappointed, we believe this is the right call as we do not want to put anyones health in jeopardy. We will be rescheduling the dates this Summer/Fall once it is safe to do so. If you have any questions please reach out to our assistant director Matt Foster. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to beginning this project with our New Hampshire Veterans in the months to come. We hope that everyone remains safe and healthy during these challenging times.
Dear Veterans of New Hampshire:
Thank you for your service to our great Country! We want to tell you about a project we are working on to honor our New Hampshire Veterans and invite you to participate. This project is sponsored by Swim With A Mission, a New Hampshire based non-profit that raises funds for veteran service organizations.
We are putting together a book that will feature photographs and stories of our Veterans living in New Hampshire. We are looking for Veterans that represent the diversity of all our NH Veterans, so from every branch, every era and every rank. We will ask each Veteran to talk a little bit about their military career and to also share an impactful story (or stories) of their service.
Here are the key details:
- You will be asked to fill out the short form below, which includes your contact information.
- You will be asked which day you are available to have your photo taken and be interviewed about your service (Interviews will be short between 5-10 minutes. The entire process will only take 1 hour).
- You will not be asked to wear your uniform but you are more than welcome to wear it. We want you to be comfortable so please dress in anyway you choose. We do ask that you bring something that is special to you and reminds you of your service (For example a medal, flag, service dog, etc..).
- Please be advised, although we would love to feature every story in this book, we can only choose a certain number of Veterans, which means you might not be selected.
Your interview will be videotaped so we can preserve your story in your own words. We might use that video in the future to make a documentary or make available online. Your photograph and story might appear in the book we hope to publish this summer.
The deadline to sign up for this is March 1, 2020. This book is going to be a collection of stories that exhibit courage and sacrifice. We recognize that each Veteran has their own story and they are all important. Unfortunately we can’t publish all of these stories, but we would like to try and include yours. Once published, the book will be a good representation of all the stories of our Veterans. All proceeds from selling this book will be used to support our Veterans in New Hampshire so by participating you are doing a great service for your fellow Veterans.
If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Matt@swimwithamission.org.
If you are a Veteran currently living in NH and are interested in being one of the New Hampshire Veterans selected for this project, please fill out the short form below.
